What Have We Discovered and Where Are We Headed?
Sixth Annual Teaching in the
Community Colleges Online Conference
April 17-19, 2001
(Rescheduled Date: May 1 - 3, 2001)
Aloha
from Hawai'i!
May
1--Honolulu. Aloha everyone! Welcome to our sixth annual Teaching
in the Community Colleges Online Conference, "What Have We Discovered
and Where Are We Headed?"
Our conference
team has exciting events in store for you including a special
panel of students to share their personal experiences with online
learning. For the first time, with generous support from HorizonLive,
we will bring you some sessions live and in color.
We have
realized, due to Hawaii's location in the middle of the Pacific
Ocean, that while we work, most of you are asleep. Consequently
we adjusted our schedule as much as practical to provide ongoing
activities for whatever time zone you happen to live in.
This year,
several companies have join us in a virtual exhibit hall. Please
be sure to spend a few moments in this area.
Above
all have fun and get some rest. There are virtual tours of Hawai'i
and video news segments about UH. Our team has also carefully
selected an official T-shirt, 100% real Kona coffee, and the most
popular Hawaiian chocolate macadamia nut products.
May 1
(May Day) is Lei Day in Hawai'i, a festive day for enjoying the
floral bouquet of our Islands, that are coincidentally depicted
in our conference banners. On with the show!
