TOURS Pipeline is one of the jewels in the triple crown of surfing. The wild winter waves of the North Shore are no place for inexperienced surfers and Pipeline challenges even the best. Take a stroll through Waikiki. Starting at The newest landmark, the Hawaii Convention Center, cruise all the way down Kalakaua Avenue to the oldest landmark, majestic Diamond Head crater. Waikiki is a kaleidescope of cultures and shows why Hawaii is called "the Crossroads of the Pacific".
Haleiwa reflects the character of the islands in times past. This little North Shore town, blessed with a natural harbor, played a part in the sugar cane days of old Hawaii. In modern times it has absorbed an influx of hippies, surfers and tourists. Undaunted, Haleiwa retains its laid-back country charm.
Chinatown, like the city of Honolulu itself grew up around Honolulu Harbor. Today it sits next to the modern skyscrapers of the business and financial district. Chinatown today still has the flavor and character of almost two centuries ago when the first Chinese came to Hawaii. It still provides a cultural touchstone for modern Asian immigrants.
Nobody visits the Northshore without stopping for a shave ice. There's nothing better on a hot day. Meet some of the TCC coordinators as they take a refreshing break from virtual reality.
